Question:
My nose is straight until about an inch (maybe ¾ of an inch) from the end, where it turns up at a sharp angle. I would like this angle adjusted downward. But when I push my nose down with my finger, it makes my nostrils flare out more. Can rhinoplasty straighten out my nose and tighten up the nostrils?
Answer:
There is a general rule about what we call tip dynamics, ie moving the tip. If you do one major move to the tip, it can affect something else. That said, rotating the tip downward should not make the nostril flare unless the tip is also positioned closer to your face, retro-displaced. I would need to try to make sure this does not happen.
