Question:
I really want to have better looking eyes and I have scheduled blepharoplasty twice, yet cancelled both times. I guess I am worried about something happening to my eyes. Is there any chance of something happening to my eyesight?
Answer:
Any surgery around your eyelids can put your eyesight at risk, but the risks are small and the complications rare. Most complications occur from bleeding around the eye. This more of a risk with lower eyelid surgery than upper eyelid surgery, and still very rare. Lower lid surgery is more extensive. We can do upper eyelid surgery in the office with local anesthesia. It takes about 45 minutes.
