Question:
Is blepharoplasty the only solution for droopy eyes? I am 66 years old and the skin over my eyes droops down too far. Aren’t there any non-invasive techniques that could tighten up the skin in this area?
Answer:
On occasion, some looseness of the skin can be tightened in the upper lids with Portrait plasma resurfacing. http://www.drbentkover.com/photo-gallery/portrait-psr3-plasma-skin-rejuvenation-photos/patient-23593 But, this is the exception, not the rule. That said, an upper eyelid blepharoplasty can be safely and comfortably done in the office under local anesthesia in about 45 minutes. It is not a very invasive procedure. About 2/3 of the swelling is gone in a week. There is little or no post op pain.
