My eyes were always my best feature but now they look hidden. It is almost as if they have become deeper set. It seems to me that work needs to be done on both the lower and upper parts of my eyes. Is blepharoplasty done under local anesthesia? How long will this surgery take? Will I need someone at home to care for me afterwards?
If your eyes seem deeper, it may be that you need a brow lift and not a blepharoplasty. I would need to see you to advise that. We commonly do upper eyelid blepharoplasty under local anesthesia in the office. Yes, you would need a ride that day, and also the next day for your post op check. Lower lid blepharoplasty is better done under general anesthesia or intravenous sedation in the operating room in our day surgery unit. This is a matter of safety.
