I feel as if a face lift is a last resort procedure. If I am a woman in her late fifties with wrinkles and excessive facial sagging, are there any other options for me?
It should not be viewed as a last resort if you are interested the a lasting facial rejuvenation. The wrinkles might be best treated with a laser or plasma resurfacing. This can be done as the same time as your face lift. The sagging is best treated by a face lift. Fillers are a temporary fix and best used in the nasolabial folds, marionette creases and for increasing cheek volume. However, they do not take the place of the elevation of the jaw line and the correction of the neck that you get with a face lift. I feel that the best candidates for a face lift are usually between 45 and 58 or so.
