My husband had rhinoplasty for a deviated septum 2 years ago. Now he has lost a good portion of his nose from cancer surgery. Is a reconstructive nose job very different from rhinoplasty? What can we expect from the reconstructive nose job – a nose that is just passable or can he actually have a normal looking nose?
Please take a look at the patients on my website under Reconstructive Surgery. Depending on how much tissue was removed and the thickness of what was removed. the results can vary. He might need just what is called a local flap or might need a major staged reconstruction of his nose with cartilage grafts and a flap taken from his fore head or cheek (Paramedian forehead flap or nasolabial island flap). In most cases the nose can be made to look better.
