I have a hump on my nose that I would like to have removed. Is this done by filing down the hump or by breaking the bones? Can it be performed through closed rhinoplasty?
If you picture your nose a long tent and take off part of the tent, then you realize that once part of the hump is removed, the sides of the nose (the tent walls) then need to come in some to close the top. So, removal of a humps is usually a combination of filing and cutting of the bones. It can be done open or closed. I prefer open so I can see the bones better.
