Question :I’m African American and I’m looking to have a nose job to improve a little droopiness and increase the tip projection. I also have a history of forming keloid scars. With this in mind, how would you achieve the changes that I want?
Answer : It would be very unusual to have a keloid scar of the nose, pretty rare, but possible. Keloids of the ears, chest, back and arms are more common. In an Africa American nose I frequently use a cartilage graft from the nasal septum called a shield or Sheen graft to increase projection, decrease a drooping and add some definition to the tip. To overcome thick skin in the tip you need to add structure below.
