Question : I am interested in getting implants for my cheeks. I am 28 years old and in good health. Will the incision be inside the mouth or under the chin? Is the procedure done under local anesthesia? What do you do to prevent a shifting of the implant once surgery is completed?
Answer : Cheek implants are placed from inside the mouth. I place small tungsten carbide screws to hold them in place. General anesthesia or heavy sedation is best, I think.
