Question : Is otoplasty just for pinning back the ears or is it ever used to fix deformities of the ears?
Answer : An otoplasty is done to reshape the ear more than set it back. The ear deformity it fixes is called a lop ear deformity. The ear is too flat and by giving it more curvature it makes it look more normal. Sometimes it also pushes the ear closer to the head.
