Question:
I'm 38 years old and have some hollowing or volume loss in my lower cheeks. Can this be fixed with a facelift or would fillers or fat grafting be a better option?

Answer:
A facelift usually will not improve volume loss in the lower cheeks. A midface lift my change the appearance by moving volume up. Most commonly a filler like Radiesse, fat grafting or a cheek implant will help.

Question:
What is a mid face lift?

Answer:
A mid face lift elevates the area from the lower part of your lower eyelid to the corner of your mouth at about a 45 degree angle.  It is done with sutures or a suspension device that dissolves over time called and is called an Endotine Midface and requires small incisions in the hairline and inside the mouth.  The deep tissues are elevated off the bone through the mouth for the movement.  The incisions should not be noticeable.  The results can be subtle or very rejuvenating depending on the age of the patient and condition of the skin, muscles and fat.  Here are a couple of examples: http://www.drbentkover.com/photogallery/mini-facelift/patient-3 and http://www.drbentkover.com/photogallery/mini-facelift/patient-5.

Question : I notice that when I am not smiling, it looks like I am frowning. People actually comment that I seem angry.  I don’t know if this involves just my mouth or both my mouth and eyes. Would a consultation help me identify whether I need a cheek lift, an eyelift or both?
