One of my ears has always been slightly larger than the other. I now have the financial ability to undergo otoplasty to fix my issue. What is the usual recovery time for such a procedure so that I can give my job notification?
You will be out of work about 7-10 days. The ear will be swollen visibly to others for about 3 weeks and to you and your surgeon for about 3-6 months. Most of the swelling is gone by 6 weeks. It can be a bit painful post op, but well controlled by standard pain medications.
