Question :
I want lip augmentation via injectable fillers. I am most interested in hyaluronic acid fillers. After the injections, will my lips swell and if so, for how long? Will my lips feel soft and natural or does the filler make them somewhat harder?
Answer :
Hyaluronic acid works not just by filling but also by drawing fluid into the area. In the lips I believe the attraction of fluid is the primary way they augment your lips. So, yes, your lips will swell. This is part of the affect. Usually the amount of swelling decreases some over a few weeks. The real result is at about 3-4 weeks. You should not really notice much difference in softness after that time.
