Question : I recently heard of something called a skin pinch. Can you explain what this is?
Answer : This refers to removing a very thin piece of skin from the outer part of the lower eyelid at the time of or after a lower eyelid blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery). The surgeon pinches a very small amount of skin with a fine tweezers and removes just that skin. Removing too much skin can lead to sagging of the eyelid and two much show of the white of the eye (scleral show). This is a way of removing skin without much risk of scleral show.
