I have pouches under my eyes that make me look tired all of the time. I read that this is fat. I would like blepharoplasty to remove this fat. Will all of the fat be removed? Is any of the skin removed?
In facial cosmetic surgery we like to preserve volume. Most commonly I do a fat transposition on the lower lids, moving the fat pads of the lower lids down to fill in the tear trough area under the eyes. This is done transconjunctival, that is through an incision on the inside of the eyelid. I rarely remove any skin. If the skin needs to be tightened, I do this with a laser or plasma resurfacing.
