An excellent plastic surgery outcome is a team effort with all of us working toward a common goal---your satisfaction. Our team of dedicated professionals will work with you, the most important member of the team, to help you achieve your aesthetic goals and to provide the most caring and confidential environment possible.
Your initial appointment will consist of a confidential consultation that will include a careful analysis of your pertinent features, a thoughtful explanation of your diagnosis and recommended treatment options. When applicable, Dr. Bentkover will take digital photos and simulate a proposed procedure with our imaging software during your consultation.
A full cosmetic surgical consultation is booked for 60 minutes. A brief consultation (such as for a laser treatment or Botox® or a facial filler) lasts about 30 minutes. A Botox® or facial filler treatment can be done at the time of the consultation. Occasionally, other brief procedures can be done the same day as the consultation also.
Dr. Bentkover will listen carefully to what you have to say and tailor his recommendations to your particular needs and desires. If you are not sure what you want, his honest and straightforward evaluation will help guide you. After the initial consultation, you may return for an additional consultation at no charge. We encourage you to go home, review whatever literature we give you, write down questions, think about the information, and return for a second consultation. It is important that you get to know us, we get to know you, and that no question is left unanswered. When reviewing information about specific plastic surgical procedures, it is important to understand that the circumstances and experience of every individual are unique. If you are considering having a procedure, please do not hesitate to ask for further information about the particular procedure and what you can expect. There is no such thing as a “silly” or “stupid” question. You learn by asking questions.
Please arrive 15 minutes early for your initial appointment to complete necessary paperwork, and please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
- Insurance referral, if applicable.
- Pertinent x-rays, if applicable.
- Previous operative notes, if considering revision surgery of any type.
- A list of current medications
IMPORTANT: All patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.
A pre-operative physical is mandatory for patients undergoing intravenous sedation or general anesthesia for surgery. We will help you arrange for this with your primary physician or one of the staff in the Pre-Admission Department at the hospital. Please alert the doctor if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (e.g. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, mitral valve prolapse, aortic valve stenosis, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.)
