Xeomin FAQ

FAQs

Should I be cautious about using a filler like Xeomin when it is first approved by the FDA?

Xeomin® is not a facial filler. It is what is called a neuromodulator, a botulinum toxin that selectively paralyzes injected muscles. This product is subject to the same testing standards required by the FDA for all botulinum toxins. While it is newly approved, there is no reason to expect it to behave differently. It has been used for many years in Europe with no un-expected long term side effects.

How is Xeomin administered?

It is injected with a tiny needle in very small amounts into the muscles to be treated.

How often will I need treatment with Xeomin?

Approximately every 3-4 months, just like with the other botulinum toxins.

Question : I notice that when I am not smiling, it looks like I am frowning. People actually comment that I seem angry.  I don’t know if this involves just my mouth or both my mouth and eyes. Would a consultation help me identify whether I need a cheek lift, an eyelift or both?
