To Whom It May Concern, Last January I had reconstructive surgery for a cleft pallet and hare lip birth defect. I would like to bring to your attention the wonderful work and professionalism of my surgeon Dr. Stuart Bentkover. Bentkover, his wife Nancy (his nurse) and his entire staff are always pleasant and professional. I was impressed by the research Dr. Bentkover did on my previous surgeries and how he took the time to explain his plan of what he would do before the surgery and after the surgery; he showed me his surgical sketches of the work he did.
When researching a surgeon, I when to the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS) website because I know that all of their surgeons have met rigorous examination and certification. Something that was very important to me was the specialization in reconstructive surgery. I was also impressed by the fact that others in the medical profession time and time again confirmed that he is one of the best in his field by their unprompted praise. These were nurses that have worked with him in the operating room and others who have had gone to Dr. Bentkover for surgery themselves.
I would highly recommend Dr. Bentkover and I am very pleased that Blue Cross and Blue Shield FEP have such highly qualified doctors in their plan.
I would like to extend my gratitude to you, Nancy and your entire staff. When I came to see you last fall I wasn't sure that anything could be done to improve my nose. While I am not an insecure person, I have always felt a little awkward with my nose and lip disfigurement due to the cleft palate and hare lip.
When I first visited your office I felt that you and Nancy took the time to listen to me and I did not feel rushed. I was excited about what you showed me could be possible for reconstructive work. Thanks to the referral and the help of you staff my insurance company paid for my operation, which was a blessing. I have received many compliments from friends and family who say "You would never know that you had anything wrong with your nose." I have gone from a baby who had half a nose and no palate, to an adult with a bulbous nose and awkward bump, to a person who now looks like everyone else.
Enclosed is a letter that I have sent to both the Federal Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance company and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS). I wanted to let both organizations know of your skill and dedication to you patients and to your profession. Thank you again for the wonderful work you do.
